The SCS1000 compact siren is a powerful acoustic signalling system with built-in amplifier and loudspeaker in a single unit. It's compact size was orginally dsigned for use on Motorcycles but it is just as effective as a compact siren unit for use on cars. It's very small size means it can easily be fitted under the bonnets of most space hungry modern cars.
Built of ABS with glass fibre and injected aluminium, the SCS1000 siren includes 16 pre-programmed tones which are easy to select using the microswitches conveniently located on the back of the siren. Fuse also included in the back.
A mesh filter prevents solid particles from entering the siren, while a drainage system prevents the accumulation of water on the membrane. A rubber seal joint prevents water from entering the electronic circuits.
This compact siren speaker integrates the siren tone generator, amplifier, and loudspeaker into one unit.
The small size means the unit can be easily installed in places where space is limted.
Rated at 30 Watts of power which does not sound much but it has a sound output of 105 dB which when compared to our our old 45 watt all in one siren unit it is a lot louder!! Believe me these siren are very loud compared to the other compact units on the market.
The operation of the Compact Siren SCS 1000 is based on the principle of electronically generating tone frequency signals which are manual, wail, yelp and two tone. The siren consists of the loudspeaker unit, amplifier unit and tone generator all enclosed within the single housing.
An optional microphone (purchased separate) may be connected to allow the unit to be used as a public address system.

The siren complies with the specifications for Class IP 55 devices and the corresponding test requirements of the DIN 40 050 standard. E marked
Connection and operation:
For the connection of the siren, three switches have to be installed (not supplied with unit but available from most vehicle accessory shops) The siren is activated via an ON/OFF switch. The horn control (if required) is switched to stand-by operation via a second switch. The third (non latching) switch is used to switch between wail, yelp and two tone.
Alternatively the unit can be wired through the horn ring to change the siren tones thereby requiring only one additional switch.
